I just came back from my CeBIT marathon (i mean my one day trip to CeBIT). The first word that comes into my mind after visiting CeBIT is “_HUGE_”. This event takes place into around 23 showrooms, each of them big enough to host an entire commercial aircraft. I have been walking all day long (including a 6km long walk just for the trip to the nearest Burger King) and i’m exhausted now.

I dropped by the GNOME and KDE booth and was a bit deceived. In comparison with the other booths, these ones were pretty small and without any attractive posters, sport car :p or whatever. But I took some pictures of the suggestion board that had some interesting notes :D.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t meet with Jens because he was working today. May be next time.

The opportunity of SVN accounts for translators was discussed just after the switch to subversion around March (IIRC) and at that point it needed some experimentation and testing. Now, it’s ready, translators can get their SVN account (i sent a personal mail to those who can have one, if you feel forgotten drop me a note), now the translation efforts won’t suffer delay due to committing anymore.

If you want to help for the translations, you’re welcome to join the team, just subscribe to the xfce-i18n ML and and let you know; you can watch the status of translations here; i also created some basic scripts to help subversion newbies to checkout and update their working copy, you’ll find them there.

Once again, thanks go to Auke, our (over)skilled server admin, for his work.

Happy translations…

Hi all, i’m Jean-Franois (also known as p0llux on IRC) , i’m the author of the menueditor. I will no more release the menueditor as an third-party package because, since last night (here in Belgium :-) ), it’s included in xfdesktop and so it will be directly released with xfce4. For the future development of the editor i will coordonate with Brian. All remarks on the menueditor are welcome, i’m often in the #xfce channel on IRC if you have questions about it.

By the way, i really need to find a photo of me for the weblog.
